This popular three day workshop at the nearly 6000 acre University of Santa Barbara’s Sedgwick Reserve has proven to be a mecca for both novices and experts who are serious about creating award winning landscape art. If you want a intense photography weekend learning and comingling with a dedicated like-minded group of “shooters” this could be the workshop you have been looking for. The 'MASTERS PROGRAM' Photography Workshop The creator of Death Valley Visitor Center's stunning 23-foot long "Stovepipe Wells Sand Dunes: photographic mural - Tom Gamache - will conduct an early December weekend workshop in the park. Death Valley National Park is one of the most beautiful and mysterious places on earth. The park comprises more than 3.3 million acres of spectacular desert scenery, complex geology, undisturbed wilderness and sites of historical interest. Capturing the full scope of this extraordinary location is a challenge for any artist. Both Tom and Van Assisted have visited and photographed Death Valley many times over decades of photographic work. As in all “Masters Program” Workshops, you will be guided by the instructors and you will have many opportunities to explore your own artistic vision at many prime iconic locations. This workshop is a special event for anyone wanting to capture the mythic aura of the desert landscape. Possible shooting locations include Badwater, Dante’s View, Aguerreberry Point and Mine, Scotty’s Castle, Ubehebe Crater, Titus Canyon, Stovepipe Wells Sand Dunes, The Charcoal Kilns, Mosaic and Golden Canyons, Devil’s Golf Course and other world famous locations. Accommodations - Death Valley Workshop The workshop is held during one of Death Valley's most beautiful and pleasant times of year. Hotels and campgrounds in Furnace Creek and Stovepipe Wells are likely to be sold out months prior to the workshop date. Advance reservations are strongly recommended. For your registration and accommodation convenience, deluxe rooms will be available for The “Masters Program” Workshop photographers at the Stovepipe Wells Motel. The 'MASTERS PROGRAM' Photography Workshop For nature photographers in Southern California, Wandering Around Outdoors, in conjunction with The National Park Service and UCLA’s Stunt Ranch Reserve, will present a three-day “Masters Program” Landscape Photography workshop in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.
